The method

Three published aggregate corrections, applied in the open: uphill shots play the full rise (downhill returns about 85% of the drop), carry changes about 1% per 10°F of temperature, and thin air adds about 1.1% per 300 m of altitude. Wind is excluded on purpose; it interacts with trajectory too strongly to fake with a single factor.

Questions

How much does elevation change a shot?

As a working rule, an uphill shot plays roughly the full rise: 15 feet up adds about 5 yards. Downhill gives slightly less back because the ball lands on a steeper descending flight. Wind is deliberately not modeled here: its effect depends on trajectory and can be several times larger than any of these factors.

Does temperature really matter?

About 1% of carry per 10 degrees Fahrenheit, per TrackMan aggregates. A 150 yard shot on a 5 degree Celsius morning plays about 4 yards longer than the same shot at 21 degrees.

What about altitude?

Thinner air adds roughly 1.1% carry per 300 meters of altitude. In Madrid (650 m) a 150 yard club flies about 3 to 4 yards farther than at sea level.

Is this exact?

No, and nothing that ignores your ball flight can be. These are published aggregate corrections, applied transparently. They get you to the right club; your trajectory decides the rest.
