Privacy
Plain language, no legalese. If a paragraph here doesn't match what the app actually does, that's a bug. Email us and we'll fix it.
What we collect
- Your sign-in identifier. An email address, or the relay address Apple provides if you use Sign in with Apple.
- Your profile. Optional handle, display name, handicap, ability level, bio, avatar.
- Your rounds. Scores, GPS positions used to compute distances, photos you attach, and round metadata (course, format, who played). If you import a paper scorecard, we store the photo and the per-hole values we read from it.
- Your social activity. Likes, comments, follows, blocks, reports.
- A push-notification token when you allow notifications, so iOS knows how to reach your device.
- Anonymous usage events to help us know what features are used. We read these ourselves.
How we use it
To provide the app. To compute your statistics. To deliver notifications you’ve opted into. To let you share rounds with people you choose. That’s it.
Where it lives
Your data is stored in the European Union by cloud infrastructure providers we control. We don’t sell it, rent it, or hand it to advertisers.
Who we share with
- Apple, for Sign in with Apple and push notifications. Apple’s privacy policy applies to those touchpoints.
- A third-party email service, for sending sign-in codes and per-round summaries.
- Nobody else. No ad networks, no analytics resellers, no data brokers.
Privacy controls
Each round has one of three settings:
- Just you. Nobody else sees it.
- Followers only. People you follow (and haven’t blocked) see it.
- Public. Anyone signed in to the app sees it. Blocked users never do.
Every read of someone else’s content checks the privacy setting, the following relationship, and the block list before returning anything.
Profile basics (handle, display name, avatar, bio, handicap) are visible to anyone signed in so people can follow you. Email is never visible to other users.
Scorecard photos
Imported scorecard photos are owner-only. They never appear in the social feed. Deleting the round or the account deletes the photo. You can also delete the photo from the round-detail screen.
Account deletion
Settings → Account → Delete account. Your photos and avatar are removed within seconds; the rest of your data is removed within 30 days. There is no undo.
If you’d rather request a copy of your data first, email us and we’ll handle it manually.
Notification controls
Each push or email channel is independently controllable in Settings → Notifications, or via the link in the footer of every email we send. Account-security and per-round-summary emails stay on regardless.
What we don’t do
- No ads.
- No third-party analytics or tracking pixels.
- No direct messages. Game-scoped chat exists during a round, but no standalone inbox.
- No streaks, points, or engagement loops.
Cookies and tracking
The website sets no analytics cookies and embeds no third-party tracking pixels. Fonts load from Google Fonts. Share pages load a single read from our database to render the preview. Nothing else.
In the app, in-app purchases use Apple’s StoreKit framework per Apple’s privacy policy.
Children
The app is for 13+ per Apple’s App Store rules. If you’re under 13, please don’t sign up.
Changes to this policy
We update this page when the data surface changes. The last-updated date is in the header above. Material changes will be announced in-app before they take effect.
